Life, Riches & TIME

The “really” rich person is the one having FREE TIME-time to do nothing. Perhaps the indicator variable of measuring richness should not be net worth (building which mostly requires lending personal free time to arbiters economic activities) but NET FREE TIME. Perhaps we could look for some “FREETIMEONAIRES”

Life & Living

One’s Life is a function of a series of constructive/destructive interferences between one’s inner environment comprising of streams of thoughts and the external environment comprising of the streams of thoughts of he masses. Riding the crests and troughs then requires being conscious of these thoughts (and the causal feelings). Such consciousness is perhaps acquired and enhanced by forming a habit of “introspection” (for understanding the inner environment) and that of “reflection” over happenings (for understanding external environment).

Visualization

Visualization is an exercise where one engages himself in act of remembering the goal and “mentally practicing” attaining it. It is an act of “mental practice” of how one would work towards achieving his goal and surmount difficulties in that pursuit.

The Magic of Self Identity & the Romance of Hobbies

The activities that one does for a living have to be inherently meaningful and nourishing to the self. One could pull on for a while by focusing on returns (pay/ status/stability) but sooner or later burnout sets in.

To make this compromise phase (phase of life or phase of month week or day) bearable one could perhaps cultivate which one finds meaningful and nourishing and thus adequately balance the drudgery of a job. This would call for a bit of introspection and exploration. One could try listening to soul uplifting music, reading inspirational articles/books and classical literature or wandering in wilderness of nature……..rain soaked mountains and jungles…….sea shores etc or express oneself through music, writing ( say blogs) and speaking; or getting involved in activities which are useful to society.

Building ones self identity/defining one self around activities which give meaningful and nourishing strokes to the self (and which are not dependent on employment) seem to be the way leading to happiness and joy of living.
